Petty Party (2-8-18)

[WP] The narrator was running late and just showed up to a story already in progress. He doesn't know who the heroes or villains are or even what genre this is. [Link to post.]

"Now everything makes sense!" Mark said. A flash of annoyance shot across his face. He ran his fingers through his long dark hair to help him calm down. Jerry sat in a small, bright classroom surrounded by a group of his closest friends. Jerry's shaved head reflected the fluorescent lights. He wore a blue letterman jacket with blue jeans. Sasha sat cross legged on the teacher's desk. She wore a black hoodie and blue jeans decorated with holes. Lisa sat next to Mark, holding her purse in her lap.

"We're sorry we couldn't tell you before, Mike." Jerry said to Mark Mike. Mike's hand stroked his long dark hair again. Jerry ran his hand across his bald head while he reflected on how he betrayed his best friend of seven years. Sasha leaned forward on the desk, then dropped her legs off the edge to speak her peace.

"Mike, things just haven't been the same lately. Ever since you moved to town last month, and met all of us for the first time. Last month." Sasha said.

"It felt like you guys were avoiding me," Mike said. He hung his head and stared at his red and black shoes.

"No way. You're awesome, Mike!" Lisa said. She reached to grab his hand. "We all love you." Lisa squeezed his hand to hint that she loved him a little bit more than everyone else. Jerry stood up and walked over to pat Mike on the back.

"Yeah. We all love you the same. Like a friend," Jerry said. Mike looked up and nodded at him.

"Yeah, I know." Mike squeezed Lisa's hand to let her know he loved her too. He stared into Lisa's rich brown eyes and he knew he would do anything for her.

"By the way, Mike," Jerry said. He held a firm hand on Mike's shoulder. "It seems unnecessary to say, but I feel better having said it. Lisa is my girlfriend, okay? We're in a relationship." Jerry said. Sweat dripped down the back of his bald head.

"Yeah, I know," Mike nodded. Of course he knew. The only question he had was how long it would last. He knew Jerry would break Lisa's heart one day, then she would come running to him. He just had to bide his time. "I guess there's just a lot going on. It may not seem like it, but I really hope you two are happy for a long, long time." Mike smiled and offered a hand to Jerry. Mike hated that Jerry tried to come between him and Lisa, but he knew how to deal with it. Making Jerry disappear would be easy, then he'd have Lisa all to himself.

"Hey Mike!" Sasha yelled from atop the teacher's desk. He looked over to see her waving at him.

"What's up, Sash?" he asked. Sasha shrugged.

"Nothing, just wanted to remind you that I'm here too." Mike nodded. Another witness. He'd have to kill Sasha too. Then he could be alone with Lisa.

"On second thought, I'm leaving," Sasha said. She hopped off the desk. "You guys have fun."

"Sasha, wait!" Mike thought quickly to slow her down.

"No, I can't do this.. like this ...anymore." Sasha spread her arms wide in exasperation at the situation. "Some of us are professionals, and clearly some of us are not.  This professional," Sasha pointed at her chest with her thumb. "... is going home to work on her homework, or something else in character."

"Wait! I can fix it!" Mike said. He was clearly losing his mind, begging the others for attention. The idiots believed him. The group of morons gathered around the one crazy moron and whispered about whatever it is morons whisper about. Outside the day was beautiful. Though Mike was currently planning something with his stupid friends, in the back of his mind he wished he was on the beach. Just him and Lisa, holding each other in the warms sand. Close enough to the edge so that the water lapped at their bare feet while they kissed. Mike knew that's what he wanted, and he knew how to get it.

"Okay, fine. Leave then. I'd rather be at the beach anyway," Mike said. He tossed his arms up in frustration as she shoo'd his former friends out of the classroom. Sasha and Jerry walked out of the room leaving him alone with Lisa. Exactly what he always wanted.

"Lisa, now that we're alone, there's something I've always wanted to tell you." Mike stared at the ground in shame. "I couldn't tell you before, because you had a boyfriend." Mike knew he would not have stood a chance against Lisa's ex. He was the manliest of men. Women wanted to be with him, and men wanted to be him. Mike knew that even if he started a relationship with Lisa now, it was only a matter of time until she was back in the arms of her ex.  "I'm gay," Mike said. He planned to use the lie to help Lisa relax around him.  He shook his head.

"I'm absolutely 100% gay."

"Then why couldn't you tell me when I had a boyfriend? It's not like you wanted to date me, right?" Lisa asked the question on everyone's mind.

"I'm telling you this because it's only you and me in this room. It's a secret between us, okay? It's not because you were dating. It's because you were dating him. Lisa, I think I love your ex. Is it okay if I ask him out?"

Lisa was surprised. She looked at Mike and realized how attractive he was. Lisa knew she would say yes. She wanted Mike to ask me out. Yes, please.

Lunch Jitters (6-23-18)

[WP] You are the greatest villain in the world. When you come face to face with your only rival, he says, “Do you want to grab a coffee before we start? I’ve haven’t eaten all day.” [ Link to post .] "I'm so glad you said something, I started late today too," The Shade said. He patted the heavy, dark leather coat over his stomach, then leaned closer to whisper at SunKnight. "Kayla's teeth are coming in, and Lucille's out of town for that thing." He shrugged, then pulled off his black, featureless hood. "I needed an extra 40 winks. Let's do a lunch, meet me at the pizzeria in 20." Keith Slinny, the man under The Shade's mask checked his watch. The rest of his black costume dissipated from his body; black smoke wafted from him like steam escaping a body in winter. "At this point, we'll end up putting it off until tomorrow so I need to book the babysitter now." "The wedding's tomorrow, remember? Let's take t...

Heckin' Opportunity (6-20-18)

[WP] You have a shoulder angel and a shoulder devil. This is somewhat unusual, but what makes it worse is that everyone else can see and talk to them. [ Link to post .] "I have an appointment with Mr. Johnston," Michael explained his presence to the short-haired secretary. He stood in front of her desk wearing his nicest suit, and his light brown hair combed as neatly as he could manage it.  "If you take a seat, he'll be right with you," she said as she pointed toward the row of colorful, plastic stiff back chairs on the other side of a small coffee table. Michael nodded, then sat in a red chair. He grabbed one of the dozens of Acting magazines spread on the coffee table. He mumbled to himself while he flipped through the magazine. "This is a bad idea," he said. Then he felt the familiar weight of a tiny angel on his right shoulder. Righty wasted no time in encouraging Michael. "That's just fear talking. This is a great opportunity, i...

Luck be a Lady (10-18-17)

You alone have the ability to give any "power" you wish to anybody any time... but you're also really petty and use it for revenge / personal amusement [ link to post ] “No, it’s fine, go ahead and cut me off you bastard. Obviously you’re more important than I am,” I whined at the green truck that suddenly decided it needed to be in front of me to catch a turn. I needed to pump the brakes a bit, but it was more annoying than dangerous. I breathed deeply, trying to calm down. For my wife’s sake I began taking anger management courses, and they seemed to be working. I calmed down and forgave the rude bastard. It felt good to forgive him, and I smiled to myself when I decided I wanted good things for that person. “Your safety is now a major priority for all policemen within a 10 mile radius of you,” I said aloud. I was alone in my car. Speaking helped me focus, though I did not need to say the words aloud. It was not long before red and blue flashing lights appe...
